It’s designed specifically for endurance athletes who find themselves coated in white crust after a race, hooked up to an IV, or otherwise fresh out of salt after a long period of intense exertion. Each pouch contains as much sodium as a bag of potato chips and less sugar than almost any other drink mix, because that’s what you really need.

It’s been proven that sugar isn’t particularly important for recovery, so Skratch focuses on sodium. Excessive salt loss is dangerous, as well as performance inhibiting, so it’s important to re-up after extended high-intensity exercise. Hyper Hydration doesn’t taste particularly salty, though, because it’s paired with a little glucose, natural mango flavor, and citrate, which has been shown to ease digestion and speed energy-creating pathways.
